Hello 75shell

Yes I’ve had the same experience and so have other members. Comments here may be of interest to you

renshaws sugarpaste

You’ll see my answer in the link and also what I did. I will not be using Renshaws again, well not unless they change the recipe for a better one!

Would you recommend colouring some covapaste or buying precoloured if precoloured what brand would you recommend madeitwithlove, can’t believe I’ve now got over a kilo of icing to find something to do with.

Unlucky you have so much of it! I only use Satin Ice now and colour it myself. I don’t have any problems with it whatsoever. I know some people don’t like it. I thought you might like to see what some members say about
Sattina http://www.cakeflix.com/questions/sattina It’s a lot less expensive than Satin Ice and folk rave about it!
I would still recommend contacting Renhshaws for the purposes of lodging a complaint/disappointment. They may agree to take back what you have for refund. You can only but try. Here is their site https://www.renshawbaking.com/gb/ready-to-roll-icing Scroll right down to the bottom of the page for their contact information.
I have never used Cova paste so I can’t comment on how it would colour. I know some professional decorators use it with no problems. However, I always opt for pre coloured if it’s a product I’ve not used before. Saves the hassle of colouring big amounts. I would try a small amount first to see whether you like it.
Hope this helps, and if you manage to contact Renshaws, feed back would be good. x

ps I added gum trag to the complimentary paste Renshaws sent me and made flowers and model, at least they won’t be eaten!

Hi
I had problem with Renshaws as well, it kept cracking so I tried a few
Satin Ice…. too mashmallowy flovour
Sattina…..very sugaray (grainy)

I like best paste from
www.sugarpastedirect.co.uk
its great to work with, it has a nice flavour and not too sweet. The only downside is you have to buy 5kg at a time. If you go to the link you can find more.

Hope this helps,
Jackie
