round tin to square tin

Hi all,

I have a recipe for a 10″ round cake but want to make it in a 10″ square tin, i realise that therefore i should use a recipe for a 11″ round (as both tins are same depth). I have looked at the guide in the blog (madeitwithlove) but can’t work out what i should be looking at ??

Can someone help me please.

Many many thanks

Hi cake day dreamer

Have a look at the ready reckoner again, then go down the left hand column and select the recipe size, which in your case is 10″ round. Run along that line until you reach the column 10″ square and you will have the conversion which is 1.3. You should scale all your ingredients by one and one third for your 10″ square tin. If you can’t use this method go to link on the same blog http://www.cakeflix.com/blog/how-to-work-out-what-size-cake-tin-to-use which sends you to the cakeulator on the Cake Baker site. Hope this helps you.
