Stars On wires

Hi, can anyone help? I have put some stars on wires, taped them with florist tape, put som fondant in a posy pick to pad out as the pick so that the wires don’t move. I have put my wires in pick and inserted into cake. All seemed fine however, I’m finding that the wires are moving around in the posy and I have lost my shape. I can’t add any more fondant as there’s no room so I have tried to stop them moving by securing a small ball of fondant and little stars around the edge of the pick, but to no avail – arghhhh. Can anyone suggest a solution as I have to deliver this cake later this evening – am devastated 🙁

Hi clan

If you look here
http://www.cakeflix.com/questions/attaching-heavy-gumpaste-flower-to-wedding-cake there are other suggestions too. You could also try adding a few more strands of wires to make a thicker stem so they sit more snugly in the posy picks. x
