Thanks

Hi Pinkshellyg

You can make it now if you want to, it’ll give it time to really harden up. Gumpaste once made up won’t go off and the shoe can be be kept as an ornament afterwards. Less stress to make it up in advance.

Great thanks 🙂

Do you have any idea where I can get the label for the shoe and box? I’m only part way through the tutorial so appologies if Paul explains later on!

I think most members download a picture and have an edible sugar image printed either from a cake decorating store or get it online. I would google edible Jimmy Choo label. I’ve just googled and there are lots of sites selling it, also ebay and Amazon. Hope this helps.

Hi Pinkshellyg,

Just as an afterthought on what MIWL has said, when buying one make sure it is an icing one and not rice paper, I had a job to get the rice paper one to stick on.

Hi Jgibb

I suggested ebay and Amazon to Pinkshellyg at quick glance. On further searching I don’t see anyone actually selling. Do you know the online company who sells the logo? It would be useful to post on the site in case anyone else needs to get it. I haven’t attempted the cake, not brave enough!

This company does edible logos http://www.caketopperdesigns.co.uk/?gclid=CNiWhOaVlrQCFcjKtAodNnsAgg. Apologies for my previously hasty answer.

I made a start on this last night and made the shoe, overall I think it looks not too bad for a novice and first attempt however on the course notes it says 100g of white and 100g red sugarpaste which I hadn’t realised when I was ordering online so was disappointed not to have the material to make the black shoe as in the tutorial. No idea where the white is supposed to be used!!

also i downloaded the template for the shoe and it’s pretty small so not surewhat happened there either.

i suppose it’s all a learning curve and I will know for next time, I’m sure my sister in law will still like it 🙂

Hi Pinkshelleyg

Sorry for this late reply, I’ve just seen your comments for the Jimmy Choo tutorial. First the template, once you’ve downloaded, it can be enlarged using a photo copier. If you don’t have one most post offices do and will enlarge for a small fee. The 100gm white sugar paste is for making the wedge which acts as the stand for curving the shoe for the height. Paul advises to make the wedge and let it dry for several days so it’s solid. The wedge can be kept and used when ever you want to make the shoe again. Anyway you’ve done it so well done you! Next time you’ll do it better for this first experience. x
