Slug Cake

has anyone made a slug cake? looking for ideas and how to make it look slimy. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi sandra I’ve never made a slug cake but you can achieve the slimy effect by using clear piping jelly , you can get this on eBay . Good luck

Hi Sandra

The easiest way to make a slug cake without carving is to make a cake pop mix and then mould  with your hands the slug shape. When you’re happy with the shape give it a coating of ganache (as in the tutorial for ganache). You can then either ice it with the appropriate colour fondant or with dark and milk chocolate ganache. Add the details like it’s eyes, and those horn type things on it’s head and the slime with piping gel. I’m sure you must have books with pictures of slugs (or look at the real thing!). Another way would be with rice krispie treats. same method, mould , ice then add the details. Hope this helps.
