Square from round

Hi
I want to have a practice at the teddy cake
It uses a 10×8!cake. In the freezer I have a 12″ round Madeira which I was going to use for another cake but ended up doing fruit.
My question is can I get a 10 x 8 out of a 12″ round.

Thx for any help x

Hi, it doesn’t matter if you can cut out a 10×8 rectangle as long as you can get all the shapes you need from your cake. I would draw a 12″ circle on a bit of paper and check that you can fit all the templates into the circle. Hope that helps!

Hi jb

I’ve just done the teddy and used a 12″ round chocolate cake. As long as you download the templates to fit two A4 sheet of paper you will have plenty of cake. I split the cake in half and cut all the pieces from the two sides. I was going to use the left overs for cake pops, but afraid couldn’t resist and we ate the lot!!
