Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Sugarpaste becoming damp to touch.
Sugarpaste has become damp and cant be touched to decorate, would i be better to use a heater or a dehumidifier in the premises to stop this happening, weather conditions are extremely wet at the moment, does that play a part in my problem?

Hi trevorcrawford
The weather definitely plays a big part in making fondant sticky and wet. Try adding a very small amount of tylose powder, not too much because you don’t want to end up with gumpaste! The tylose will just dry it enough to make it more manageable for rolling and enrobing. I find kneading sugar paste the night before it is required helps to rest it and feel less wet. Running a fan while decorating can help as probably would a dehumidifier.
thanks very much madeitwithlove ill get on the job tomorrow.
