Does anyone know how thick your layers of cake have to be for the tatty bear cake?? Thanks

My finished cake before filling was 3″ tall. I made my teddy cake from 12″ round, cut it in half, so each round was one and half inches. Once each component was cut out and filled with ganache, the teddy was 7 inches tall, finished height with fur was 8 inches tall. I hope this helps.
