Paul talks about airbrushing in this blog http://www.cakeflix.com/blog/introduction-to-airbrushing-cake-decorating. The company he used is this http://www.airbrushes.com/. They may be the best people to take advice from with regard to having a starter pack. Hope this helps.

Hi. I was the same. I went onto eBay and got a small compressor. (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Compressor-Holder-Air-Filter-Hose-Kit-Airbrush-Art-Boday-Nail-Paint-/400344538224?pt=UK_ToysGames_ModelKits_ModelKits_JN&hash=item5d3664dc70). I already had an airbrush, but they do sell these too and not too expensive. I find it does just the job for what i’m needing as its just the occasional cake to cover and bits and pieces. It’s not too noisy either. Not sure how other compressors are, but this one did vibrate off my table onto the ground, so now I only use it on the ground, but the air hose should be long enough to work with.

Hi P

I’ve been looking at airbrushes since you posted your question and found the Dinkydoodle range in the Cake Decorating Company quite reasonable priced. They also give lots of advice too either by phone or email and you’re not under any obligation to buy from them.

Hi I bought the Cassie Brown airbrush set at the NECa year ago and this came with a box of colours. I’ve found it a pretty good buy for what I wanted it for. MarianL
